Kind of off topic to the news post, but I took a Multimedia design class, and I learned Lightwave during my second year in the class. During that time after covering character modeling, I decided to try my first human character model to be Zone-tan.

Using a character sheet that zone put up ages ago I did a very good job on the amount I actually managed to complete, I completed the purple jacket and was working on the whole body by the time I completed the class.

I didn't get even started on the head or hair. But I managed to model the rest of the body, only thing that lacks on it is a lot of work needs to be done on the breasts, to get the proper shape. The jacket is mostly done, but I need to fix up the arm parts of it, that I actually have to adjust quite a bit.

But my problem is, I'm not in the class anymore and I don't have lightwave, and other 3d modeling programs that I'm not used to most likely won't have the exact tools I need to get the corrections right.
